I’m all for in-person collaboration, but I would like to see teams start experimenting more with remote collaboration tools to keep them connected and collaborating. I once worked remote 3 days/week from the bulk of my team, with 1 developer working 100% remote from all of us. Those who were remote had an always-on Skype connection (usually on another box or on an iPad). Today, there are collaboration tools like InVision, Mural, and Realtime Board that help enable the “whiteboard experience.” There are many success stories of 100% distributed product teams. Just sayin’.
